The Pewag brand has over 500 years of experience in the production of chains, and the oldest mention of a forge in Bruckl dates back to 1479. The Austrian company started operating in Poland in 1999, opening a branch in Bielsko-Biała. In 2002, it moved to a new facility in Buczkowice, near Szczyrk, which has been the undisputed capital of skiing in Poland for several winter seasons.
Pewag is best known for producing snow chains, which are used by skiers on car wheels to reach ski slopes. The company also offers chain models for commercial vehicles, trucks, delivery vehicles, tractors and forklifts. During the winter, many fire stations in Poland, especially in mountainous areas, equip their fire vehicles with Pewag chains to ensure road safety. The company also produces tracks, skidding chains and protective chains for wheeled forest machines, wheel loaders in quarries in Lower Silesia and Kielce, and dynamometers for car engines manufactured in Tychy. Apex, the Dutch branch of Pewag, produces suspension springs, which are distributed in Poland under the Apex brand or as own brands of other companies in the vehicle suspension technology industry. Pewag panzer chains are increasingly used as solid anti-theft protection for two-wheeled vehicles such as motorcycles, scooters, expensive performance bikes and e-bikes. Pewag products are used in applications related to lifting, securing and transporting loads in the mining, chemical, construction, food, forestry and transport industries. Choosing Pewag products and trusting the brand is a guarantee of peace of mind for customers and safety for users.
