Repair, installation, validation and calibration of tachographs

Specialists carrying out the process of repairing, legalising and calibrating tachographs are perfectly familiar with the specifics of these devices and are able to detect any irregularities in their operation and effectively remove them. The company supports digital tachographs of all types and types, carrying out a range of activities related to their maintenance. Amongst them, it is worth mentioning:

  • calibration of the analogue tachograph,
  • calibration of the digital tachograph,
  • professional installation and initialisation of tachographs,
  • repairs and maintenance activities related to day-to-day operations,
  • downloading digital data from devices and driver cards,
  • sale of equipment for downloading, analysing data from tachographs and driver cards,
  • and many, many more

All services provided by the service are characterised by 100% compliance with legal requirements and the highest possible precision. This is supported by state-of-the-art equipment, tools and accessories to speed up the execution of individual works, as well as the extensive experience of our employees in servicing state-of-the-art digital tachographs.

Reading data from the tachograph

The tachograph service also deals with the downloading of digital data from the equipment itself and from the drivers' cards. Any transport company with a vehicle that is compulsorily fitted with tachographs is obliged to read the tachograph at least every 90 days, or more frequently if data loss is feared, and to archive the data for a period of three years. Reading the tachograph is also mandatory in the event of the sale or withdrawal of the vehicle and damage to the equipment. Reading the tachograph data is an activity that can only be carried out by certain companies that have a workshop card. The service also carries out the reading of the driver card data, which must be carried out at least once every 28 days.

Replacing the tachograph

The replacement of tachographs with digital ones from analogue ones is not compulsory and legally mandated, but it is worthwhile in the heavy goods vehicles used by a given transport company. The cost of the replacement is not very high, and you get a much more durable medium in the form of a chip card and hard disk, as well as precise storage of all data, without the possibility of tampering with its structure by unauthorised persons. It is for this reason that many entrepreneurs decide to undergo the process of replacing the tachograph with a digital one, despite the fact that the legislator does not require this. The replacement of the tachograph is carried out in the service facilities of Autos in Inowrocław and Włocławek by the best professionals who, during the installation process, will perform all the activities necessary for its activation.

FAQ

How often to calibrate tachographs?

The tachograph must always be calibrated within 14 days of a company acquiring a vehicle subject to compulsory fitting. This process is also necessary during the ongoing use of this equipment every 2 years or when it is damaged or breaks down, as well as when the tyres are changed or when there is a change of ownership.

When is the tachograph compulsory?

The installation of digital tachographs is required for all heavy goods vehicles registered after 1 May 2006, but there are some exceptions to this rule. The device does not have to be installed in the case of a maximum weight of the whole vehicle combination of up to 3.5 tonnes, in technical assistance vehicles, in vehicles up to 7.5 tonnes GVW used for non-commercial purposes, in cars for the transport of persons over a distance of no more than 50 km and in machines whose maximum speed is no more than 30 km/h.

How do I check until when the tachograph is legalised?

The service carrying out the verification process installs a special plaque in a visible location, on which all the most important data is displayed, including the expiry date of the verification carried out. Most services place the plate on the door pillar or in a prominent position in the cabin.
