Basics of gasoline engine operation for beginner mechanics

The training is intended for new car service employees who will deal with cars with gasoline engines. During the training, participants will be provided with basic knowledge about servicing gasoline engines. The training will consist of 50% of the practical part, during which the participant will be able to perform basic service activities related to the gasoline engine. Much emphasis will be placed on working according to the assembly procedures contained in the ESI [tronic] software (special tools, tightening torques, etc.) in order to develop the right habits necessary to do the job well.

• principle of operation of a gasoline engine
• ignition systems
• power systems with indirect petrol injection
• OBD II and EOBD on-board diagnostics
• power systems with direct injection
• compression measurement
• indirect petrol injection systems:
• evaluation of the mechanical condition of the engine
• diagnostic procedures using the KTS tester
• evaluation of the efficiency of the ignition system using the FSA diagnoscope
• procedures for replacing ignition coils and spark plugs
• evaluation of the efficiency of the injection system
• measurement of fuel pressure and its flow
• procedures when replacing the fuel filter
• procedures for replacing the fuel pump and injectors
• evaluation of the efficiency of the lambda probe and the procedures for its replacement
• gasoline direct injection systems:
• diagnostic procedures using the KTS tester
• evaluation of the efficiency of the fuel supply system
• procedures for assessing the efficiency of the injectors

• procedures when replacing the high pressure fuel pump
