Replacing the APM module In Renault DXi - better check if your mechanic did it right!

Mechanics and users of Renault trucks marked as DXi often agree with me that the Achilles heel and thus one of the biggest drawbacks is the electronically controlled air dryer (APM). The high failure rate of this element is confirmed by our sales statistics of new parts.

Most people who have encountered this problem also know that after replacing the APM, it is absolutely necessary to program the electronics of the new module. Without this action, the car will work in emergency mode, and the entire repair can be considered incomplete. If our truck went to a poorly equipped workshop, we have to take into account that the mechanic will replace the electronics, i.e. he will put electronics from a broken APM into the new module (if only the pneumatic part was damaged). In such a situation, one should ask whether we should pay such a workshop only for half a new part? And what does the warranty look like in such a situation?

That is why we sensitize our customers to pay attention to the tools that the mechanic uses. If during the repair he uses, for example, KTS Truck or Jaltest PC link diagnostic testers, we can be sure that he will program the new part properly and we will leave the workshop satisfied and, above all, with a functional car.

Users of diagnostic devices such as Jaltest or KTS are invited to contact our technical department, where you will receive support in the form of ready files for APM programming.

They will be helpful even in a situation where the old electronics is damaged and you cannot copy the parameters from it. It is enough for the mechanic to connect to the VECU controller of the repaired truck and provide us with the VIN numbers and vehicle ID, and in a short time he will receive an e-mail with a ready-to-upload file attached.
