Verification of drivers' qualifications

The digitalization of transport is gaining momentum, introducing innovative solutions aimed at increasing safety and efficiency . The latest version of the mObywatel app opens a new chapter in driver license verification, offering quick and convenient verification not only for transport companies but also for every citizen. This precise tool is intended to support system tightening and improve road safety.

mObywatel: new possibilities for verifying rights

The mObywatel app introduces a groundbreaking feature that allows drivers' licenses to be verified not only by transport companies but also by any interested individual. This is a significant step towards greater transparency and security, and a significant improvement for the transport industry, meeting the needs of the 21st century.

Driving license on your smartphone – now with verification: The new version of the popular mObywatel app is a true innovation . To check whether a driver has a valid driving license, there's no longer any need to wait for physical documents or involve officials. Simply entering your name, surname, and license number will provide you with instant information on whether a person has a valid license, a temporary license, or even a tram driving permit. This functionality is available 24/7, directly from your smartphone, with guaranteed data accuracy, downloaded directly from state databases. Importantly, everything is done in compliance with GDPR regulations.

Wide range of applications: from entrepreneurs to individual users

The possibilities of this new feature are extensive. Transport companies gain a tool for quickly vetting job applicants, eliminating the lengthy process of waiting for documents. It's also a convenience for individuals – lending a car to a friend? Now you can check their driving license in seconds. Driving schools can easily verify the documents of both students and instructors. Even school trip organizers can quickly verify the validity of a bus driver's license. This is a step towards greater responsibility and road safety.

In addition to the new feature in mObywatel, transport companies have recently gained another advanced tool. Starting in February 2025, they can integrate their systems with CEPiK (Central Registration and Control) databases, enabling automatic verification of licenses. The system operates in the background, continuously checking the validity of drivers' licenses, notifying them of suspensions or revocations, and even generating alerts, for example, 30 days before their expiration. This not only increases compliance with regulations during roadside inspections, but above all, improves operational safety by eliminating the risk of allowing someone to drive without a valid license.

SENT: Extended control of international transport

Digital authorization control is also expanding to the SENT (Electronic Transport Supervision System), which until now has primarily concerned the transport of sensitive goods such as fuels and alcohol. From November 2024, the obligation to report the route in the SENT system also applies to foreign carriers from outside the European Union, even before commencing their journey in Poland. This strategic move aims to promote fair competition and increase transport safety. It also increases the effectiveness of roadside inspections, giving authorities the ability to verify transport operations in real time.

The consequences for unregistered transports are clearly defined: seizure of the cargo and a fine of 45% of the goods' value (no less than PLN 20,000), increased by PLN 10,000 for lack of geolocation data. Drivers who fail to verify the transport reference number can receive a fine ranging from PLN 5,000 to PLN 7,500.
