Comprehensive quality control in one factory

The key to the unparalleled quality of Bremann brake discs is complete control over the entire production process in a single, integrated factory. This covers every step: from precision casting and machining, to corrosion protection and packaging. Furthermore, quality control is performed after each of these steps, minimizing the risk of errors and ensuring product consistency.

Advanced material specifications and precision

Bremann brake discs are cast from ASTM A159-83 Grade G3000 gray iron, equivalent to DIN 1691 Grade GG20. This material selection ensures optimal mechanical and thermal properties, crucial for brake performance in harsh operating conditions.

The chemical composition of the material is strictly controlled, with precisely defined ranges:

  • for coal (3.00-3.60%),
  • silicon (1.70-2.30%),
  • manganese (min. 0.40%),

While maintaining flexibility within small variations in these elements, provided that standards of tensile strength, hardness, and metallurgical structure are maintained, the microstructure of Bremann discs is characterized by uniform, fine-lamellar pearlite (min. 95%) and a maximum of 2% carbide. This structure guarantees optimal friction properties, wear resistance, and thermal stability.

What makes Bremann brake discs special?

Strength and hardness - The tensile strength (tested on a test bar in accordance with ISO 6892:1998) is a minimum of 200 N/mm². The friction surface hardness (HBW, in accordance with ISO 6506-1:2005) is in the range of 160-250 HBW. The lower limit of the hardness specification is adapted to the thicker wall thicknesses of discs used in commercial vehicles, in accordance with DIN EN 1561.

Rigorous Testing and Quality Assurance – Each batch of castings undergoes machining tests, combined with visual quality control and casting tolerances, before production begins. Furthermore, a percentage of the castings from each batch of material is periodically subjected to destructive testing, including microstructural analysis. These rigorous procedures ensure that Bremann brake discs are free from cold spots, porosity, and sand inclusions, and are easy to machine.

Certified quality to a global standard - Bremann disc factories hold the renowned ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 certifications. These international standards confirm that quality management systems are maintained at the highest global level, guaranteeing that every Bremann brake disc meets the rigorous criteria of the automotive industry. Furthermore, all discs in our offer are European ECE R90 homologated, clearly confirming their compliance with European safety and performance standards.

Warranty - Bremann brake discs are covered by an impressive 100,000 km or 2 year warranty (whichever comes first), a testament to your confidence in a product that has been designed for the most demanding commercial vehicle applications.

Price - Bremann products are distinguished by an attractive price combined with high quality, equal to that of leading brands.
