High Nissens standard in turbochargers

Truck engines are designed for heavy loads and long-term operation. Therefore, turbochargers for commercial vehicles are subject to much more severe operating conditions than turbines used in passenger vehicles.

A truck turbocharger is exposed to high temperatures, high and variable pressures, and frequent starts and stops. Many aftermarket turbochargers use aluminum compression wheels, which in difficult conditions, under heavy loads, may deform the structure of the compression wheel and its blades or even cause the wheel to break. Disintegration of turbocharger components can cause further engine damage.

The properties of titanium alloys enable the transfer of much greater loads without the risk of wheel deformation and loss of balance. Therefore, compression wheels made of titanium alloy are much more durable than their aluminum counterparts. In addition, titanium alloy provides significantly higher temperature resistance and high corrosion protection.

The compression wheel made of titanium alloy increases the reliability and durability of the turbocharger operating in difficult conditions. Selected truck models are factory equipped with a turbocharger (OEM) with a compression wheel made of titanium alloy. Nissens turbochargers have an adequate design and materials - Nissens turbochargers for specific truck models use titanium alloy instead of aluminum in the compression wheels.

Advantages of Nissens turbochargers with titanium compression wheels:

  • High-quality titanium alloy – high durability of the turbocharger
  • Prepared for extreme loads - resistance to material fatigue
  • Very durable construction - high temperature resistance
  • Corrosion resistance – high protection and long-lasting operation.
