The rally team that we have supported for many years has once again won the European Cup in cross-country rallies. The championship is all the more valuable because it was won on board the vehicle they have been racing for the first year – CAN-AM Maverick X3. This is already the second championship title after a one-year break.
They entered the competition in Turkey as leaders. This rally was supposed to seal the title, but it turned out that the championship went to Tomek and Darek… without a ride. Baja Troia was canceled by the organizers, and as a result the current leaders became champions.
The championship was won after an interesting season
The current season was summed up brilliantly by Kamena Rally Team driver, Tomek Białkowski: "We stood on the top podium three times. Additionally, we won one of the World Cup rounds - Baja Poland. Unfortunately, during one of the European Cup rounds, we had a serious situation where our vehicle caught fire, and the last round was cancelled. Due to the new points system, we competed for the title until the last round - both in the drivers' and co-drivers' categories." In order to win, they had to travel across Europe, taking part in rallies such as Baja Extremadura, Italian Baja, Hungarian Baja, TT Sharish Gin and Baja Troia. Not all the competitions went according to plan, but the most important thing is that the intended goal was achieved.
There is no boredom with Kamena Rally Team
The European Cup was not the end of the competition this year. As we wrote some time ago, ambitious plans are synonymous with the Kamen Rally Team, so they set off straight from Turkey to conquer Mexico. They started in one of the most difficult rallies in the world – BAJA 1000. They had to cover 1400 kilometers of Mexican off-road in just 36 hours. And in one stage. It was not without adventures with the vehicle, which was rented on the spot. They did not stop 4 flat tires, they took 10th place in their class and spread the Polish flag at the finish line. The rally was completed and as they announced, they are eager to try again in this unusual competition.
