Every year, our company actively participates in the finals of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity. This time, the foundation was collecting funds for the fight against sepsis.
For many years now, the Management Board of Autos and its employees have been playing together with Jurek Owsiak and millions of Poles without hesitation during the finals of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity. We know very well how every zloty donated for this purpose is important and is a real support for those in need. This year, the orchestra raised funds for the purchase of modern equipment for the rapid detection of bacteria that can cause sepsis. The declared amount of the entire collection is definitely over PLN 150,000,000.
Inflammation of the body, which is a sudden and intense reaction of the body to an infection. It is highly dangerous and requires immediate medical attention, and in extreme cases it can lead to death. It is extremely important to quickly detect the bacteria that causes sepsis, and thus - to quickly implement the appropriate treatment. And it is precisely the fastest possible detection that is to be supported by the equipment purchased by the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity.
This year, we failed to increase our collection of vehicles that were used to fund the foundation's account. However, the company's new office building will be decorated with numerous paintings. The auctioned items included: painting donated by Mrs. Hanna Machińska, former deputy Ombudsman - Villa San Francesco, created by Sylwester Pędziejewski. In addition, Jurek Owsiak's badge "For merits for the protection of human rights" was attached to it, which he received from the late. Jan Kochanowski, Ombudsman.
We also auctioned off paintings depicting Polish cities. Both Warsaw Stare Miasto by Andrzej Wasilewski and Gdańsk Motława are impressive works of art.
A 14 carat gold heart is also extremely valuable. Specially designed and created for the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity by the jeweler Jaracz from Krosno
Last year, we re-auctioned the sabers that we had previously purchased during the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity finals. We decided to make it a tradition and this year we also donated the item that was auctioned last year. The painting by Mr. Dariusz Miliński "The spirit of the mountains in three people" went to the GOCC headquarters in Bydgoszcz and turned out to be the highest auctioned item during the 31st Final in Bydgoszcz. We are glad that the image has contributed so significantly to help in the fight against sepsis.
The painting "The Spirit of the Mountains" is just one of the items we donated in the region. We regularly engage in supporting both the staff in Bydgoszcz, but also in Solec Kujawski, where the company's headquarters is located. We donated various types of electronic devices to the auction, but above all Mahle clothing from the Dakar line, recommended by the Kamena Rally Team, which is preparing for the Dakar 2023 rally.
We also managed to bid on a huge mascot in a WOŚP T-shirt in the auction in Solec. Immediately after the end of the auction, we declare that the teddy bear will go to the 32nd Final of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity next year and will continue to contribute to help. Until then, he had settled comfortably in the classic Polish automotive Polonez, which came to us in 2019 through the orchestra. Unofficially, we know that he is delighted with this vehicle.
And we play with the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity until the end of the world and one day longer.
